Come to Jesus...

One of my favorite songs is Come to Jesus, by Kenneth Cope.
If you haven't heard it, look it up.
What he's saying in the song is in every aspect of our lives we need to
 Come to Jesus.
The good, the bad and the ugly.

I have needed this song this past week. And it was the first song to appear on my
Pandora this morning.
Awesome!

A lot of inadequacies and anxiety have shown up at my front door.
Satan tries to break us.
He will find his way in.....any way he can.

Being a part of Your Sister Circle has been very uplifting.
I have tried to be a better person because of it. (Practice what you preach right?)
And I know the adversary is ticked off about it.
Maybe that's why I have feeling so weighed down.

If I'm going to be honest, trying to figure out what to blog about
has almost sent me over the edge.
My mind has not been in the right place to even think about it.
Wondering if my words will have an effect on anyone.
So I'm writing about my struggles.
I know somewhere out there someone is going through something similar.

You know the usual....
Being very doubtful and overwhelmed with the day to day.
Thinking your life is too much to handle when really it's not.
Trying to help your kids succeed.
Taking on others burdens, naturally as a caring person.
Worried about loved ones.

So it came to me this morning as I was listening to
Kenneth cope.....

I can do it.

He knows me. Better than I know myself. He knows what I can and cannot handle.
Not only that,
I told Him I would do it!
He knows all of you too.
We need to go to him with everything!
This is my favorite wall in my house...
TRUTH!

Here's another one of my favorites. It's a song by Hilary Weeks.
It's called He'll Carry You. I will let you hear for yourself.

(If you can't tell....I love music. It's always on at my house. It feeds my spirit)

What a powerful song!
He will lift your heavy load and carry you.
 We just have to ask.
We CANNOT do it alone!

She is such an amazing singer/songwriter. She also has another song called "Who You Are". It's about being a mother. It''s fantastic.
I'm looking forward to seeing her at Women's Conference during the concert night.

Speaking of Women's Conference.......I am so ready for this.
Spending the coming days with my sisters also feeds my spirit.
Those 4 wonderful ladies, that I'm fortunate to call "sisters", uplift me like nobody's business.
They inspire me to do better.
We are definitely
Sisters by chance, Friends by choice.

I WUV them!

SISTER HIGHLIGHTS!!!

OK!! Here we go!! Are you ready!!????
These 3 sisters are SIMPLY FAN-TAS-TIC!!!
And we ALL get to KNOW THEM!!

It's been so dang fun!!

FIRST UP..........................

The beautiful
ROSALYN PACE

Where do you live?
San Antonio, Texas

What is your favorite treat?
Butter Pecan Ice Cream

What is your favorite color?
Pink

Tell us one of your talents?
I would have to say being creative

Tell us one person that inspires you and why?
My husband is a true inspiration because of how calm he is in any situation. The roof could be falling in and kids running around while I get anxious he handles stressful situations so much better than I do. I always strive to do better each day.

Please feel free to tell us anything you feel like sharing!
I am a military spouse of 11 years this May! A mother of 3 little men ages 5,4 and 2 who are more than a handful. In addition a graduate student with hopes of being complete the first of next year with a Masters in Management...GO MAVERICKS! Advocate for Infertility Awareness which I have been through myself and if I can help or be a shoulder I am there. And lastly, I have a small business 89 Wishes where I carry multiple hats as a wedding/event planner, florist, and stylist. Love being creative and helping people with my God given talents, truly  humbled and it brings me such a high as I see my clients faces.

Please give us any feedback or ideas you have for your sister circle!!
I absolutely love the sister circle. Many do not have sisters me included and look to your close girlfriends for the support that you need, for laughs and just someone to be there. I have found in this short time of being on Instagram so many lovely women that I can call friend. Now I have a group of sisters that I look forward to seeing each day.

(She has a favorite quote and we'll talk about that one later in the post)

ISN'T SHE FREAKIN' ADORABLE!!!
You can follow Rosalyn on Instagram @e9wdesigns

NEXT UP....

The one and only

HAUNANI THUNELL
(cutest name ever)

Where do you live?
Allen, TX

What is your favorite treat?
Carrots and celery...just kidding, chips and salsa (I could seriously live on that stuff!)

What is your favorite color?
Red
Tell us one of your unique talents?
Hmmm...I'm a super speedy texter (but not while I'm driving!) I can play the piano and sing a little.  And I write stuff down.  But I think a unique talent that I have, that might not be on everyone's list of talents, is to open my house and invite people into it.  I love making food for people, sharing this space that we have, and being the gathering spot.  So...gathering?  Is that a talent??  I hope so.
(she ALSO had a favorite quote that will be later in the post)

Tell us one person that inspires you and why?
Sister Hinckley, because she was wise and kind and always knew what mattered most. She taught me that people are more important than stuff.  I love women who are spiritual and strong, intelligent and humble, women who have been places and seen things, but yet who are still compassionate and kind.  Julie B Beck, Sherri Dew, Patricia Holland, Maya Angelou...all of those women are inspiring and amazing to me.

Here's some other random stuff about Haunani...
I love road trips.  I love to see how the landscape of the country changes from one state to another.  I love the earth.  I love to drive around chasing the sunrise to try and capture a permanent picture of it.  I love Mexican food.  I secretly wish I spoke Spanish.  I'm adopted.  I'm Hawaiian.  I grew up in California and have lived in five different states in my life so far.  My husband and I met in HS, have been married for 20 years and have 4 amazing kids.  I have the extreme privilege of staying home and having this house and their lives be my full time job.  We moved from Mendon, UT to Allen, TX in 2010 and we love it here.  The church is amazing in Dallas!  I love the pelicans in Cache Valley UT.  I'm not a fan of snow, although I would love to drive snowplow someday.  I love the beach and the sound of the waves hitting the shore.  I dream every single night in full color with vivid details that I can remember most mornings.  I am an obsessive journal-er.  My goal in life is to sing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  And I am completely addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper.
Please give us any feedback or ideas you have for your sister circle!!
Thanks again so much, girls, for this amazing little community of sisterhood you are striving to pull together.  I love feeling like part of something awesome and inspiring, and you are definitely that!

COULD YOU JUST SQUEEZE HER TO DEATH!!???

And for the grand finale......

Say hello to the stunning
ALLIENE MILLER
(pronounced AL-LEAN)

Where do you live?
I live in southern Arizona in a small town. Well actually between two small towns- Benson and Pomerene

 What is your favorite treat?
My favorite treat is dark chocolate with almonds. Or rocky road ice cream with almonds (not peanuts.) Or Chobani flips coconut with dark chocolate and almonds. Or almonds dipped in Nutella. Are you sensing a pattern here? But of the non chocolate non almond persuasion I love all lemon desserts (mmm tart!), strawberry shortcake with biscuits and real whipped cream (not a pound cake gal) and homemade ice cream. You could say treats are an important part of my life. And I may just be a treat snob!

What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is hard to narrow down. (Go figure...I just named like 14 treats instead of one favorite!) I love yellow.  Turquoise blue is so pretty. Kelly green has always been a favorite. And orange. I like orange. Blue, purple and red. I really love most colors except dusty mauve. Ugh. Is that a color? Because I'm pretty sure I wore a bridesmaids dress for one of my sister's weddings in "Dusty Mauve". Sorry if I'm offending anyone but I'm glad that color went away. It is gone right???

Tell us one of your talents?
I feel like I've lost some of my talents but I'm pretty good at throwing parties, decorating for weddings, cooking and baking. I make some pretty good homemade ice cream. I can also make pretty decent homemade salsa. But mostly I'm super funny. Ha. We'll I'm "kind of" sarcastic and I like to make people laugh so I pretend I'm really funny. But I guess none of those are really unique...so my most unique thing is I can stack some coins on my forearm, (underside up) with my hand back to my shoulder and quickly throw my hand down to catch the coins in the air. Yeah. Pretty amazing. I could've been in the circus

What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is from Gordon Hinckley: "In all of living have much fun and laughter.  Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured." It's a good daily reminder for me. But I've just come across another one that I'm loving too: "If I live my beliefs everyday, God can use even someone as ordinary as I am to change the world." That one is from Brad Wilcox.

Tell us one person that inspires you and why?
I am having a hard time narrowing down my inspiring person to just one...my dad always inspired me with his ability to make friends wherever he went, his never ending acts of service and his unconditional love. Even though he passed away over 12 years ago he still is one of my biggest inspirations.  My husband inspires me in the way he loves me and our children, serves in our church in his busy, time-consuming calling and in his love for God. He is patient and kind and my best friend. And he laughs at my jokes. I'm so very lucky and blessed to have him as my eternal companion for 20+ years! I also have three birthmothers that I am so blessed to have as friends in my life. They inspired me with their completely selfless acts of placing their beautiful babies in my family, allowing me a chance to be a mother. They were wise beyond their years.  They inspire me each day to be a better mother and to not take my children for granted. Their kind, beautiful hearts are filled with love and an understanding of our Heavenly Father's plan. They are truly inspiring to me!

DON'T YOU JUST WANNA SPEND LIKE A WHOLE WEEKEND HANGING OUT WITH ALLIENE???

Ok HI....#3 sister here...I kinda saved something until the end of the post. When I emailed a few sisters about doing their highlight...Both Rosalyn and Haunani had the exact same favorite quote....which was SO WEIRD because I (along with the rest of my sisters) have this EXACT quote hanging somewhere in our house.
So I thought...THIS IS NO COINCIDENCE!! OH NO....no INDEED LADY!!
SO... I felt like I needed to do a special highlight of the quote itself.
Here's a picture of it hanging in my home...and I will type it out for you below because it is FANTASTIC AND 100% PURE TRUTH!!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some ~ it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others"
(Marianne Williamson)
YOU ARE POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE!!!
WHO ARE YOU NOT TO BE!!!!?????
SHINE SISTERS!!!! SHINE!!!!

I sang that....and snap snap snap!!!
DO IT!!

Push it---push it real good!

I've been SMACKED!
Right in the face! :)
Smacked real good-------
I don't wanna go on and on, {maybe I should} but i gotta tell ya what happened {happening} the last few days.
So its sissy #5 here....{hi all the buddies}
And we are now on our THIRD closing date for our home.
The contractor is a good guy but right now, I really wanted to blog about tips and tricks on how to hide your contractors BODY.
Not that i have any clue or real advice on this, but you get my point.
Given we have to be OUT of our town-home in 6 days and i reeeeeeally don't see the house being done.
Unless there is a Miracle.{and you all know how I feel about those}
So while i am an OPTIMIST...and mike is a PESSIMIST.
YOU can see exactly where we are at.
{for the love of everything that's holy}
So-----Mike got a Storage bay yesterday :)
and this weekend we are moving into THAT. lol
Its right down the street from our new home, so thaaaats convenient,{I said that really sarcastically}
The last three days we have been sick, like the flu, I wanna die right now----kinda sick. Like we had to wash every towel and bedding kinda sick.
Soooooo that's ALSO awesome and super! {Insert sarcasm here}
Dunno really what we are going to do.....but wait.
And the kids school?  that's whole nuther stress nest.
.
So while feeling totally and utterly defeated last night......the wind has completely stopped and I'm just sitting in the middle of the ocean.........all alone.  waiting............ super bored..............Hungry and sun burnt.
Hows that for dramatic?
.
So I was sitting in bed last night.....kept having the prompting to read my scriptures and get caught up.
I didn't read them the day before because, well---- I was on my death bed.
So I grabbed them, and I literally "Sighed" {how rude right?}
I never sigh---especially the last 3 months of devoted seeking and learning.
I had to read two days worth to get caught up to Mosiah 15.
Also the @bofm365 i follow on instagram had amazing comments and i wrote alot down, but nothing stood out to me.
But I did feel better folding my book up and going to bed.
.
I wake up to a text and an email from my friend who felt inspired to share a story with me this morning. Its called  "Pushing against the rock"
So--In a teeny tiny nut shell:
The man was told to push against this rock with all his might So he did. Urry day.....For many years.
He never moved the rock.
One day he felt defeated and Satan SWOOPS in an puts doubts in his mind. Making him feel worse.
Until he finally took his troubled heart to the lord and prayed and said "Lord i have labored long and hard in your service and put all my strength to do what you have asked. Why am I failing?
The lord then replied " My friend, long ago when I asked you to serve me you accepted {Pre-existence right?} which you have done. Your task was to PUSH, I never asked you to move it. You have not failed, your legs are massive and hard, hands callused, your arms strong and muscled.....ect.
His calling was to be OBEDIENT and push!!
Exercise your faith and trust in his WISDOM!
.
.
THIS--- was what I needed to hear.
I feel sooooooooooooo blessed to be moving my family into a beautiful NEW home.
And guilty that i wasn't being patient through the process.
So i was hiding my frustration this week cuz i do NOT for a second want to be ungrateful.
When I see gods marks on his hands-----it reminds me of ME!
Now, how can I make it so when the lord looks at ME, it reminds him of himself?
Continue to be obedient and eventually everything falls into place, like its suppose to.
Everything will be ok.
I have many YEARS ahead of memories yet to be made in our new home....living next door to my seeeester.
.
In her text { Hi Natalie} she also said, "He is aware of you"
I said a quick prayer and told HF that i trust in him completely and I DO have faith things will be ok.
Oh------and I also prayed that the house angels will be sent down and help finish things up.  lol
Everyone needs house angels!
.
So I'm going to just do what I have control over..... which is pack up!
I have work to do---no time to be whiny boo boo pants!
.
In 3 /4 weeks I will look back and LAUGH------I  KNOW IT!

I found this gem.......This is Mike and Charlee.
4 years ago.....:)

Speaking of that......
I personally (#2) need to THANK
some special women out there!

They keep me posted on my children
who are serving LDS missions right now.

Words cannot express how it feels to receive a email update
or an Instagram post with my children's faces on it.
Sister Watts

Sister Watts with a amazing a family!

Sister Watts with Sister Murdoch and Rick
and of course....homemade fried chicken!

He is so stinkin cute!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy and hectic schedules to love and serve my children.
To take them in your homes and let them know that the world is a wonderful place filled with wonderful, caring and loving people.

I am so grateful that we have inside of each of us ....
desires to serve and help each other.
don't cha think!?

We all have stressful times.
We all get overwhelmed.

Our plates are overflowing with responsibilities and we are learning to juggle all of it.
So can I just say from the bottom of my heart....
THANK YOU!

THANK YOU for
serving....

 serving other women......

for serving and loving your families.

For making a difference.

Everything we do effects others around us.
(We have all heard of the ripple effect. its truth!)

So that gets me to thinking.....
What is within us ???

that desire to do good.
To be good. To help others. To lift others?

Have you ever thought about that?
Where does that come from?

I have a thought.....

I feel it comes from our Savior, Jesus Christ.
He helped created us.
He instilled in us His light and goodness.

I mean think about it.

He created us and because of that.... some of HIM is inside of US.

TRUTH?

What happens when we create something?
Everything we create in our own lives has a touch of us in it.

Doesn't it?

Our Children.
Our homes.

Even our own lives.

We create our own lives.  Did you know that?
With our thoughts.
(When I first learned this concept I was young....
My dad taught me ....but to tell you the truth.... I thought he was full of it.
That couldn't possibly be true! Little did I know...)

Everything begins with our thoughts.
We are very powerful beings.

I KNOW we can create a life of
goodness and hope and joy
with our Savior by our sides.
He can help us create that life we are truly desiring in our hearts.

I give you a challenge--
"If you wouldn't say it to Christ....don't say it to yourself!"
Lets all watch our self talk and how we talk to others.
Lets lift and inspire!

Lets be the GOOD!
That good that is inside of each of us!
We can do this!

So to all my wonderful sisters out there
..ALL OF YOU!
Lets go CREATE some good!
 Lift others....

SMILE!
A smile can do a world of good!
Create your world. Create your life.

STAND IN YOUR TRUTH!
STAND IN YOUR POWER!

Love to you all!
